Ken qualified as an accountant in 1969 and pursued a financial career in several listed companies before moving into the technology sector by forming Resolution Systems, a start up company, in 1989. Initially a network services company the business expanded rapidly and, with 3i becoming an equity partner in 1995, the Resolution Group was formed. This incorporated the original networking business, an internet software development company and a specialist financial software house with Ken becoming group chairman. Between 1999 and 2005 the group companies were disposed of to a mixture of trade purchasers and management buy-outs. Since retiring as group chairman in 2005 Ken has become an investor in a number of start-up and early stage IT companies in diverse markets including Microsoft re-licensing, digital dictation and digital asset management for multi-channel retailers taking an active role as a non-executive director in each company. In 2010 he helped facilitate the successful sale of the digital dictation company nFlow to Bighand.
